Beyond Good and Evil Director Teases Sequel on Instagram

Is that Pey'j?

Michel Ancel is a video game legend. From creating the Rayman series and successfully revitalizing it with Rayman Origins/Legends, he also served as Director for Beyond Good and Evil, Ubisoft’s cult smash from 2003. A sequel to this critically acclaimed title has been in the works for years, with various rumours and teasing images appearing in the last decade.

Today it looks like we got some solid proof that this game is still coming, straight from the Instagram of Mr Ancel himself.

System 4 is the part of the universe where the first game, Beyond Good and Evil, took place, and that cute little piggy on this gruff dude’s shoulder looks like Uncle Pey’j as a baby. Pey’j was the protagonist Jade’s sidekick from the first game, which posits a few theories. Is this a younger version of Pey’j with Jade’s dad or relative? Or perhaps this is Pey’j’s son with Jade’s ancestor? Who knows, but regardless of who these 2 characters are, one thing is clear. It looks INCREDIBLE.

Hopefully we’ll get some more news on this soon, and that sneaky little rumour about Beyond Good and Evil 2 being developed as a launch title for the NX get’s a cheeky bit of credibility…
