Pokemon GO: How to Get Lots of Candy Fast

To evolve your Pokemon in Pokemon GO, you’ll need to use Candy. While this may seem like a relatively straightforward process, collecting enough of a specific Pokemon’s candy to evolve them can be a pretty tricky task, especially if they’re a rare Pokemon, or just require an insane amount of Candy to evolve… we’re looking at you, Magikarp.

In order to get Candy fast, you’re going to need to make the most of every single Pokemon that you come across on your adventure. Smart players will be able to milk one Pokemon for multiple Candy. Of course, if you’re looking at evolving that Dragonair into a Dragonite, you should always be making sure you capture every single Dratini or Dragonair that you spot. Each one that you catch is going to give you at least one piece of Candy, sometimes you’ll get three. Of course, when this is done you’ll then want to make sure you’re transferring your Pokemon out.

To do this, all you have to do is tap on the Pokemon you no longer want, and scroll down to where it says ‘Transfer.’ Simply confirm that you want to get rid of the Pokemon and Professor Willow will give you one Candy for that Pokemon ‘family.’ That’s up to four pieces of Pokemon Candy just for catching and transferring Pokemon that you may have otherwise just walked past and disregarded.

Finally, and this won’t apply for all Pokemon, but you’ll want to make the most of any Eggs that you’ve picked up on your trips to PokeStops. Any Pokemon that hatches from an Egg has a pretty high chance of coming with a large amount of Candy. For example, we recently hatched an Oddish from an Egg and it came with 21 pieces of Candy. Our Magikarp hatched from a 2km Egg, however, and came with 10 pieces. There doesn’t seem to be a guaranteed amount you’ll get, but it’s always enough to significantly boost your Candy count.
