More stuff for the free-to-play title.
Valve has given more details about the upcoming Jungle Inferno update for Team Fortress 2 in its second day of the update’s four-day announcement.
The update will feature a purchasable Jungle Inferno Campaign Pass, which offers 36 skill-based contracts and a “ConTracker” PDA item to track progress. Unlike previous campaigns, all contracts are unlocked from the start and friends can help complete contract goals together as long as they are in the same party and server.
Completing contracts earns unique cosmetic items, such as yeti parts and Saxton Hale’s hat, or Blood Money to spend on the new War Paint cases. War Paint replaces the weapon drops of past campaigns, and some might contain stat tracking or other effects.
“Think of it as a voucher for a unique pattern that you can redeem for an entirely new patterned item—even one you don’t already own,” Valve explains. “Redeeming a War Paint means you don’t have to sacrifice any existing items in your backpack by modifying them. Simply select from one of almost forty item choices per War Paint, preview your new item, and redeem it!”
No price has been announced for the Jungle Inferno Campaign Pass, though past campaign passes have been sold for $6. Valve previously announced six new jungle-themed maps and seven taunts are also coming in the Team Fortress 2 update, alongside a short movie showcasing the new setting.
