How to Get Iron – Conan Exiles
In order to get strong weaponry and armor in Conan Exiles, you’ll first need to find the raw materials to craft them with. Iron is one such material that can be incredibly handy. Unfortunately, there seems to be some confusion on what you need to be looking out for and where it can be found on the map, so here’s how to get iron in Conan Exiles.
First things first, you’ll want to always be keeping an eye out for small gray stones. These dark gray boulders can be broken down with a pickaxe in order to get your hands on ironstone, which can then be used to craft yourself some stronger armor and weaponry. These gray stones are dotted around the map, but players appear to have found a bit of an iron hotspot relatively close to the game’s starting area.
Upon starting out in the southeast area of the game’s map, you’ll want to start heading northwest, while staying on the east side of the river that cuts the map down the center. You’ll eventually come across the mountainous regions of Conan Exiles, and this is the best place to find these smaller gray rocks and a good supply of ironstone.
You’ll then need to put your ironstone in a furnace with either Wood, Coal, or a Branch as the fuel in order to turn your ironstone into an iron bar.
It’s worth noting that you can also get ironstone from breaking down larger rocks for stone, though this is rather infrequent. Also, before setting off to the mountain region of Conan Exiles, make sure you’ve got a weapon and some good gear to help protect yourself against the spiders and hyenas that guard the route from the starting area.
That’s all there is to getting iron in Conan Exiles. For more tips, tricks, and information on the game, be sure to check back with Twinfinite.
