The newest Sims 4 expansion pack Island Living has arrived, and with it a tons of new content all centered around your sims enjoying a tropical getaway, including the ability to tan and sunburn your Sims’ precious skin.
Besides new actions like becoming a mermaid or swimming in the ocean with dolphin friends, your sims can now get to work on getting that perfect sun tan.
You’ll have to watch they aren’t in the sun too long though, so here are some tips on how to get a tan and not sunburn in The Sims 4 Island Living.
Suntans and Sunburns in Sims 4 Island Living
The first thing you are going to have to do is buy a beach towel from the Build & Buy menu and place it somewhere outside on your lot.
This allows you to have the option for your sim to suntan by clicking on the item, but remember you can only suntan when it’s actually sunny out as rain will not allow the action to show up.
Once the towel is on your lot, you can choose what outfit you want your sim to tan in with the options being underwear, nude, swimsuit, or current outfit. Like real life, their suntan lines will be based on the outfit they are wearing. You can also sunbathe in floaties if you wish.
Once your sims starts tanning, you are going to want to watch their moodlets until a warning one appears saying if you stay out in the sun too much longer, your sim will get a sun burn.
This moodlet usually comes up about an hour after you start sunbathing in game time, so cancel the action of suntanning as soon as you see it unless you want your sims to have some summer regrets.
That’s all you need to know about how to suntan and avoid sun burns in The Sims 4 Island Living expansion pack. Be kind to your sim’s skin!
