Nintendo President Satoru Iwata Has Passed Away

In a brief statement, Nintendo has announced the passing of Satoru Iwata, President of Nintendo since May 2002. Iwata was born in 1959, and was 55 at the time of passing.

Iwata was appointed director at Nintendo June of 2000, and was named CEO 13 years later in the June of 2013. The role of representative director remains with Genyo Takeda and Shigeru Miyamoto.
