Squad Size – XCOM 2

Recommended Videos

XCOM 2 puts players in the role of a Commander of a human army up against an alien threat. It will have you in control of a squad of soldiers in turn-based combat on a battlefield. To start off, you’ll have four available slots to fill with members that would be best suited for the mission. However, as the difficulty of the game ramps up over time, so will the available slots.

Eventually, you’ll be able to have six soldiers in your squad. Make sure to make room at your base, which you should be doing anyway, because you’re going to need an excavation room for the Guerilla Tactics School (GTS) facility. Once built, you’ll have the option of increasing your squad by one for some supplies and one more time afterwards. Now you can really destroy the enemy forces with a full six person troop. This is extremely vital to completing certain difficult missions, so be sure to build the facility as soon as you have the option to. It’s also good for training Rookies to be a specific class right off the bat, rather than a random one when ranking up.
