In Genesis War, you are leading a team of characters through the vast world of Antaria, battling various enemies as you experience the story and lore of the game. Each character has special abilities and a unique elemental type of damage, so making a team synergize well with each other is the key to victory.

With the release of Genesis War, it’s important to know the ins and outs of each character and their power level, so we are ranking all the characters from Genesis War in a Tier List according to their damage, utility, elements, and more!

S Tier Characters

These are the strongest characters in in Genesis War. The characters in this tier outperform the others in both damage and utility.

Heidelrun	+ Highest damage output in Genesis War. + Has abilities that heavily weaken the enemies. + All Tier 3 classes have high damage options for single and multiple enemies. + Access to additional attacks.
Black Prince	+ The best fighter in the game for PVP and PVE. + Can remove enemies’ resistances and elemental advantages. + Gets stronger with lower HP. + The best class options in the game for self-buffs.
Prios	+ Has access to powerful summons. + Can recover TP on kill. + Has attacks that can avoid enemy resistances.

A Tier Characters

Great options for any team, each of the characters in this tier being among the best in their role.

Veramode	+ Great utility abilities. + Has additional actions as well as access to multiple elements. + Offers great flexibility to the team.
Deimos	+ Tier 3 classes offer both healing and damage options. + Has access to resurrections. – Some of the Tier 3 Classes require specific setups before being exremly useful.
King Rashid	+ Buffs allies abilities by 10%/15%/20%/30%. (doesn’t overlap with other buff effects) + High damaging ability that avoids cover. + Versatile Tier 3 Class options, which makes him easy to slot into any team.
Grey G.S.	+ All around powerful character offering damage reduction, health regeneration, ranged attacks, buffs, and additional actions. + One of the best passives in the game with Guardian of Grey. + Very mobile, especially with the Tier 3 classes. – Difficult to properly play
Cameo	+ Can use 3 elements. + Extremely high damage if you are familiar with her abilities completely. – Complicated to play.
Agassi	+ Very mobile. + Has access to AoE attacks and debuff options. + Great character to play as a Tank. – Weak against long range attacks.
Kishi	+ Only option of TP refueling in the game. + Has access to AoE attacks and debuffs.
Este Dode	+ One of the best PVP characters since she is one of the rare characters that counters the Black Prince. + Great survivability. + Spell usage increases as she awakens.
Esmeralda	+ The best healer in the game with access to a resurrection. + Can slot into any team. + High base stats.
Isabelle	+ One of the best tanks in the game and thrives as an escort for the team. + Great mix of defense and attack.

B Tier Characters

Can be great if paired with specific characters, overall descent options but lack in one specific way compared to the higher tiers.

Hanzo	+ Passive offers debuff immunity and additional actions. + High single-target damage. – Depends on illusion too much.
Omega	+ Passive increases critical strike chance. +Very versatile since the Tier 3 classes can change how you deal damage. – Requires exclusive weapon in order to reach her full potential.
Cordelia	+/– Has powerful ranged attacks but, depending on what class you choose, might not deal critical damage. + Great options for team buffs. – Passive requires you to skip a turn before using it. – Lacks elemental damage options.
Diena	+ Great option for a tank since her passive reduces damage taken and critical damage. + Dedicated weapon reduces the defenses of whoever it hits. – Gets more powerful when allies die, which is a double-edged sword. – Long cooldowns.
Duran	+ Great escort tank. + Increases the defense resistances of allies if they are low on HP. + Escort doesn’t have a condition.
Joan	+ Amazing tank and support. + Has an 80% chance of deflecting enemy attacks. + Can be immune to CC if the right Tier 3 class is taken.
Dynamis	+ One of if not the best armor tank in the game. + Has resistance to debuffs. – Escort only works if you are at full hp.
Jane	+ Excellent range. + Can apply debuffs that increase critical strike chance. – Requires high specs to be useful.
Ice Pan	+ Has some of the best AoE abilities in the game as well as wide area debuffs. – Passive requires to constantly keep killing enemies.
Merry	+ Offers the best collection of debuffs on a single character. + Gets stronger the longer the game lasts. – Terrible at PVP since it ends much quicker that the PVE modes.
Shark Bary	+/- Very complex passive ability. + Can be played as a mobile damage dealer or as a tank. – Very dependent on maintaining the effect of God of War (passive)
Catherine	+ One of the best heavy tanks in the game. + Can soak damage that your allies will take. – Lack of versatility.
Thief Scharnhorst	+ Increases critical strike chance for the team. + Chiral Phantasm is one of the most useful abilities in the game. – Low overall stats. – Very squishy.
Scharnhorst	+ Can take abilities from Crow, Medici and Black Prince. – Always must maintain 2 square distance in order to make use of the unique passive.
Roberto De Medici	+ One of the best buffers and debuffers in the game. – Requires mastery of 2 jobs in order to be used properly. – No ranged attacks.
Emilio	+ Can be used as a damage dealer and tank because of the Heart Sword. – Requires high specs in order to deal damage, at low specs he is best used as a tank.
Silver	+ Extremely mobile character with the use of Sky Road. + Can steal TP and use abilities every round. – When you infiltrate an enemy territory there is a chance of giving the enemy 1 random kill.
Kun	+ High damage ability. + Great elemental options when you reach Tier 3 classes. – Relies on one ability to deal damage.
Albatini	+/– Requires that other characters give him buffs in order to trigger his effects. + Amazing team buffs. – Depends on other characters.
Cana	+ Can increase the damage and TP of the entire team. + Can apply great debuffs to the enemy at range. – Her entire kit overlaps with another character (Jane).
Christina	+ Passive ability allows her to always attack enemies that are near her allies. + Has increased resistance to AoE damage. +/– Requires an enemy kill to trigger additional attacks. – Weak against single target damage.
Erica	+/– Best used for PVP, falls off on PVE. + Access to Wind Wonsa which is one of the best long-ranged attacks. – Very squishy
Diablo	+ Strongest debuffer in the game. – Only has access to the dark element, which is not great since it is only useful vs light.
Veradin	+ Strong AoE attacks. + Hard to kill because his unique passive raises his defense as he attacks enemies.
Clausewitz	+ Very versatile because of the passive ability that allows him to choose 1 of 3 effects. – Does a lot of things but doesn’t excel in any one of them.
Ikinderun	+ Solid Support Character (provides a lot of buffs and debuffs) – Short range – Requires another character in the team to use the Lightning element in order to trigger her abilities.
Randam	+ One of the best debuff characters in the game. – Falls off late game due to other characters having more powerful weakness and debuff abilities.

C Tier Characters

This tier is for characters that have a below-average performance in the game, or have specific requirements that need to be meet in order for them to be useful.

Lina	+ Great healer option at the start of the game. – Outscaled by Esmealda as a healer in the late game.
Carls	+ One of the few characters that can suppress enemies. + Great for PVP. – Only 2 Tier 3 class options that fall off in the late game.
Crow	+ All around great character that grows stronger as the battle continues. – Is extremely prone to debuffs and healing reversal since he can’t cancel it.
Young Rashid	+ High attack power. – Has no way of dealing with damage reduction. – Weaker version of King Rashid
Christian De Medici	+ Constant access to additional attacks with the right weapon. – Great mobility. – Entire kit is dependent on having a 3 star or higher exclusive weapon.
Ophelia	+ Can deal a lot of elemental damage. – Relies on other characters to receive buffs.
Elizabeth	+ Has access to resurrection. – As a melee healer, she requires a tank to be useful.
May	+ Solid overall kit. – Falls off when it gets to her Tier 3 classes, since they require you to kill enemies for the ability to activate.

D Tier Characters

Almost never useful enough to be put in your team. There are higher-tier characters that will fill the same role much better.

Alcyon	+ Easy class progression. – Jobs require specific things in order to be completed which hinders his usage and gameplay. – Long cooldowns on main abilities. – Large TP consumption.
Shuri	– Requires stacking the Blue Dragon Effect in order to be useful. – Lacks standard damage options. – Can’t keep up with higher-tier units that offer buffs.
Karim	– Their usefulness depends on getting a Coin Burst, which is random. – Players have no direct control over their abilities and power.
Kashtar	– Inner break overlaps with the ones of more powerful characters. – High TP requirement. – Tier 3 classes require setups.
Iolin	+ Can recover her TP by defeating enemies. – Falls of in the mid and late game.
Sarah	+ Great tank option for early game. – There are other characters that offer the same things as Sarah (Joan).
Chris	+ Increases critical strike chance when enemies are not at 100% hp. + Has access to additional attacks. – Can’t keep up with the damage of other gun-wielding characters.
Nangcheon	+ Very mobile damage dealer. – Extremely squishy. – Doesn’t have any resources on his own.
Ariana	+ Great damage dealer. + Long range attacks. – Similar characters are just better in PVE.
Nina	+ She is a hybrid healer that can rival pure healers. – Doesn’t have a resurrection.

F Tier Characters

This tier is for characters that require extremely difficult setups to be useful, or their abilities just don’t offer anything of use.

Character	Details
Ennil	– Doesn’t scale well. – Only useful at the start of the game as a healer.

How to Summon Characters

In order to get characters in Genesis War, you will need to go to the Summoning menu. There, you are able to Summon and get a random character by using Cubes of Fate. You can also awaken each character up to a 5 star, but in order to that, you will need that characters’ Memory Fragments.

Within the Summoning menu, some characters will have dedicated banners for a limited time. This means the chances of getting that specific character are increased compared to the other ones of the same rarity. (Chances increase up to 50%)

There is also a pity system in the game:

• You are guaranteed to get at least 1 character of the Hero grade or higher when you do 10 consecutive summons.
• You are guaranteed to obtain one Legendary grade character when you reach 120 total summons. (the summon count will reset if you pull a Legendary before the 120 mark)
