Is There Multiplayer in They Are Billions?
They Are Billions is an intriguing little game on PC that’s getting a bit of a following behind it. Players are tasked with saving the last remnants of human civilization from a murderous horde of the undead. You’ll need to manage your resources, build defenses, and upgrade units if you stand a chance of standing any chance. While the game is great fun playing on your own, everything is better with friends, and murdering countless zombies is no different. As such, players are wondering if They Are Billions has a multiplayer mode.
Unfortunately, at this current moment in time, They Are Billions is a strictly single-player experience. Keep in mind, though, that the game is an early access title, and so it’s far from being a finished product.
A comment over on the game’s Steam community forums offers another glimmer of hope for those wanting multiplayer in They Are Billions. When asked about a multiplayer mode, developer Numantian Games stated: “As we commented some time ago, we are focusing on the single-player part of the game (Survival Mode and the Campaign). The multiplayer part could be a future add-on depending on the game’s success.”
It’s certainly a non-committal statement to make, but here’s hoping the game’s recent surge in popularity will tempt the developers into adding multiplayer in. As soon as we hear any further developments, we’ll be sure to update this post and let you know.
