Remapping Buttons & Changing Controls in Tales of Arise

Tales of Arise has different combat controls from what longtime fans are used to. Previous games had other layouts, but thankfully, you can switch things up to what you’re comfortable with.

Press the touchpad on PlayStation or the View button on Xbox to open the menu, then go to System and select Settings. From there, scroll down to find the Button Bindings option. In that menu, you can remap every single button to play exactly how you want to.

You’ll be able to change your normal attack, jump, arte attacks, evade/guard, enemy targeting, and character switching controls. It’s a bit limited since you can only change controls that are used during combat, but the option is there nonetheless.

The good thing about this is that it won’t mess up anything in terms of the in-game tips or button prompts. The game will automatically swap in all of your preferred and chosen buttons when explaining gameplay concepts and providing info on how to play.

That’s everything you need to know about how to remap buttons and change controls in Tales of Arise. Be sure to check out our guide wiki for more tips, tricks, and other useful info on the game.
