Recommended Videos

In Super Mario Odyssey, Mario has a whole bunch of new tricks up his sleeve. Chaining together acrobatic jumps and rolls are back, 64-style, as is his signature ground-pound, and there are even some funky dance moves thrown in for good measure. But the most notably all-new addition comes in the form of Cappy, Mario’s throwable hat that he can use not only to traverse but to both knock out and mind-control enemies. When Mario uses Cappy in this way, players will temporarily control the enemy avatar. Yes, that means you can control a T-Rex.

If you’re wanting to locate and morph into a T-Rex in Super Mario Odyssey, hop into the Odyssey and head to the Cascade Kingdom, where you’ll find one sleeping that can be easily taken over. The beast is snoozing atop a large mound that you need to climb up to. To take over the T-Rex, simply throw Cappy at the slumbering dino by pressing Y or X.

That’s everything you need to know about how to turn into a T-Rex in Super Mario Odyssey. For more useful information and tips on the game, be sure to check out our ever-expanding wiki page.
