How to Travel Through Electric Wires in Super Mario Odyssey

Recommended Videos

One of the first things you’ll be able to manipulate with the power of Mario’s hat aptly named Cappy in Super Mario Odyssey are electric wires. You’ll mostly see these all over the place in New Donk City, so you’re likely wondering how to travel through them.

In order to travel through electric wires to get to new nooks and crannies in Super Mario Odyssey, you’ll need to use the power of Cappy. To do this, you’ll want to make sure the light at either end of the electric wire is in front of you. Then, simply press Y or X to throw your hat at it.

Once you’ve done this, simply use the left analog stick to travel up or down the electric wire. Alternatively, if you’re a fan of motion controls, you can also shake the Joy-Con to do the exact same thing.

That’s pretty much all you need to know to travel through electric wires in Super Mario Odyssey. For more on the game, be sure to check out our ever-expanding wiki guide.
