While most of the fun comes from blasting enemies away with your Springfield rifle and seeing the slow-motion kill cam in action, you’ll need to be smart if you want to actually reach the high profile targets.

While you can sneak up to them to take them out quietly, you can use rocks to lure them to a specific place out of your way, or whistle to get them to come closer to you for an easy takedown.

Rocks are the default distraction tactic in Sniper Elite 4, but whistling can be very helpful, so it’s good to know how to do it.

How to Whistle in Sniper Elite 4

First of all, you need to make it the active distraction option. By opening the weapon/item wheel by holding L1 if you’re on PS4 (LB if you’re on Xbox One), you’ll see the rock icon at about 1 o’clock on the wheel.

Use the right thumbstick to select it, and then press R1 to switch between being able to throw a rock and whistle. Then, when you let go of L1/LB, your whistle ability will be active.

All you then need to do is press R1/RB when need near an enemy, and they’ll get suspicious of the noise and move to where it came from to see what’s going on.

If you’re well hidden, you should then be able to press triangle/Y to silently take them down, and you can then hide the body in some nearby grass.

That’s everything you need to know about how to whistle in Sniper Elite 4. For more tips and tricks on the game, be sure to search for Twinfinite.
