Unlocking The Trench Gun – Sniper Elite 4

Sniper Elite 4 gives players access to a fairly large number of weapons, whether that be sniper rifles themselves, the secondary weapons or the sidearms. And within the secondary weapons category there exists a single pump action shotgun known as the Trench Gun, but it’s a bit complicated to unlock.

Unlike most other weapons in Sniper Elite 4, the Trench Gun cannot actually be bought, you need to unlock it. And to unlock it, you need to kill an enemy sniper by using one of these shotguns found within the game’s levels.

The easiest way to do this is during the second mission, the first time you actually encounter an enemy sniper in the game. One of the objectives during this mission is to take out a sniper perched up in a high vantage point near the southern edge of the map. He’s fairly easy to spot, but resist the urge to snipe him and go look for the Partisan HQ as part of another objective.

Once there, you will have access to a large number of weapons, including a Trench Gun. Grab it, and then sneak up to the sniper’s tower to kill him. Once he’s dead, you will unlock the Trench Gun and can equip it the next time you deploy on a mission.
