The Sims 4 lets you live out your dreams of basically making any sim you want to make. Want them to be artistic? Grab them an easel. Want them to be comedic geniuses? Get them a microphone. The Sims 4 even allows your musically inclined sims to write some songs of their very own. Here’s how to write songs and write music in The Sims 4.

It’s very simple to get started, but takes a really long time. I mean, that’s really the case for leveling up any skill, isn’t it? This is basically the same thing as writing a novel, for example. You can be better at it if your sim has musically inclined traits, but it will still take time either way.

First, get to level eight in the instrument you’re going to use. This can be a guitar, piano, whatever you want. Once you do, you’ll unlock the ability to “Write Song” with that instrument. Again, it will take your sim awhile to do this, but that’s all there is to it! Just head to the instrument again and choose the new ability you got for leveling up enough.

If you stop your sim mid-song writing, by the way, all you need to do to continue is to use the new book that will appear in your sim’s inventory. Those are basically the musical sheets. Oh, and you can replay the song your sim writes using any instrument once they have it fully written, too. Congratulations, your sim will be a music writing savant in no time!

That’s it! That’s all you have to do! That’s how you write songs and write music in The Sims 4. If you need more help with the game, let us know in the comments down below and we’ll do our best to help you out. Otherwise, use our search bar above to find it yourself, if you would prefer that!
