How to Spend Skill Points in Shadow of the Tomb Raider

Shadow of the Tomb Raider is the third and final part of Lara Croft’s origin story, at least as far as Square Enix’s rebooted trilogy is concerned. In this game, Lara continues her silent war against the mysterious organization Trinity, which was also responsible for her father’s death. Together with her trusted friend Jonah, she’ll be delving into Mayan ruins this time and kicking all sorts of ass. Just like in the previous two games, Lara can gain experience and level up as you continue playing, and you’ll also earn skill points that can be used to unlock new abilities for her. Here’s what you need to know about spending skill points in the game.

First off, skill points can only be spent when you’re resting at the base camp in Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Sit down at the campfire, then choose Skills from the little menu that pops up. This is where things deviate a little from the skill tree that you might’ve gotten used to from the first two games. Now, we have a much more extensive skill tree, and you can only unlock skills that are adjacent to other skills that you’ve already acquired. The skill tree in Shadow of the Tomb Raider starts you off from the center, and you’ll slowly expand outwards as you level up further and earn more points. All you have to do is select the skill you want to learn, and if you have enough points to learn it, confirm your selection.

We definitely recommend learning skills whenever you’re able to in Shadow of the Tomb Raider. These will give you an edge in battle, and improve your abilities so you’re better equipped in dangerous situations.

And that’s all you need to know about spending skill points in Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Be sure to search for Twinfinite and check our wiki for more information on the game.
