Claiming bounties means catching bad guys who have a price on their head and turning them in for the reward. You’ll probably be being chased yourself most of the time, but that doesn’t always have to be the case.

How to Claim Bounties in Red Dead Redemption 2

To claim bounties, you’re going to want to look for wanted poster icons on your map.

You’ll be able to see icons for them on the map, but if you’re just exploring you’ll usually find them outside the sheriff’s office in the main towns in the game.

Some bounties will task players to capture the criminal in one piece, while others don’t mind whether they are brought back dead or alive.

Once you have claimed one, track down the location of the criminal as indicated on the map and head there. Put the criminal on the back of your horse and return them to the sheriff’s office to receive your well-earned dough.
