INTRODUCING ARTHUR MORGAN FROM RED DEAD REDEMPTION 2
Rockstar Games has finally given us a more extended look at Red Dead Redemption 2. The second official trailer for the game provides some clues as to the narrative direction of the developer’s next open-world western game. Notably, we’re introduced to the game’s main protagonist for the first time, Arthur Morgan.
We don’t know too much about Morgan as yet, but from what we see in the trailer, it’s clear that he’s very much a violent and dangerous outlaw. This is a major thematic departure from the character of John Marston’s from the previous game. Where Marston was a reformed Van der Linde member trying to turn his life around in the first game, in Red Dead Redemption 2, players are going to be taking control of a corrupt personality that embraces unlawful behavior. In fact, he’s a senior member of the very same notorious Van der Linde gang — a name you might also remember from the previous game.
From the trailer, we see Arthur Morgan forcefully intimidating individuals who owe his gang money, stabbing a man that looks at him the wrong way, and robbing trains in grandiose heists. We hear that Arthur Morgan’s gang are wanted by authorities across three states, and they’ve been on the run all over the wild west’s rugged terrain.
Red Dead Redemption 2 will be out on PS4 and Xbox One next spring. Be sure to keep checking back with Twinfinite for all the latest news and information about the game in the build-up to its release.
