How to Mute Players (Chat and Voice) in Rainbow Six Siege

Recommended Videos

Rainbow Six Siege possesses a vocal player base in regards to its chat functions. In part, this is due to the fact that teamwork and communication can be vital to success. This means that using voice and text chat to make callouts and other important strategies is very important.

But just like any online title, Ubisoft’s first-person competitive shooter features plenty of toxic and mean-spirited players, ones that will flame you via the chat functions. Thankfully, the game has a way to mute these individual trolls for both chat and voice functions. Here is how to use them.

For the audio portion of the chat, there are two ways to go about muting players. First, you can change your voice chat options in the Rainbow Six Siege Settings menu. Simply go into the Sound section and adjust the slider for in-game voice chat. This will mute everyone though, so we’d recommend the second option. Once you are in the game, bring up the Player menu and you’ll see a microphone. Select the player you’d like to mute and a white line will appear through the mic. The same can be done for any of your other teammates.

As of Operation Grim Sky, Rainbow Six Siege players can now mute players in text chat as well. Similar to the audio muting, all you need to do is hover over the text box in the Player menu, located to the right of the audio, and click. This function works for both teams, meaning you can turn chat off for teammates and enemies alike.

That is how you mute players chat in Rainbow Six Siege. For more Rainbow Six Siege help, check out the rest of our guides on the site.
