Lapras is one of the more iconic Pokemon throughout the series as it made its appearance all the way back in Red and Blue as a special Pokemon of sorts. How to Get Lapras in Pokemon Sword & Shield

Lapras despite its status as being a somewhat rare Pokemon in earlier games, is actually quite ubiquitous in Pokemon Sword and Shield. It won’t be as much of a hassle to catch one this time especially if you have access to the complete Wild Area.

You can find wild ones swimming around on Route 2 and Route 9, but it’s much easier to catch in the Wild Area like we mentioned.

You can find them swimming around in North Lake Miloch or the Lake of Outrage.

Where to Find Lapras in Pokemon Sword and Shield

  1. You can find Lapras in the wild on Routes 2 and 9.

  2. Lapras can also be found in the Wild Area at North Lake Miloch and the Lake of Outrage.

  3. Finally, Lapras can be found in max raid battles and potentially as a five star Gigantamax battle.

However, even better than all of that is finding a Max Raid Battle for Lapras. These have a chance to be five star and pit you against a rare Gigantamax version! So definitely search around the Wild Area for active dens and cross you fingers that one appears. We definitely recommend a Fighting Pokemon to take advantage of Lapras’ Rock typing while not worrying yourself about taking any super effective attacks of your own.

Remember, you can buy Wishing Stones to turn a den active, and if you connect online via Y-Comm you can search for raid battle stamps to see if someone else is fighting one.

That’s all you need to know for how to get Lapras in Pokemon Sword and Shield. For more tips, tricks and FAQs answered, be sure to check our our Pokemon Sword and Shield wiki guide which is filled with tips, tricks and FAQs answered.
