While the National Dex might not be in Pokemon Sword and Shield, there are still plenty of Pokemon out there for you to go ahead and ‘catch ’em all.’ Of course, you’ll need somewhere to store all those cuddly and formidable creatures. Here’s how to get more PC Boxes in Pokemon Sword and Shield.
Getting More PC Boxes in Pokemon Sword and Shield
There’s a grand total of 32 Boxes you can have on your PC in Pokemon Sword and Shield. You’ll start off with just 8 Boxes, but this number can be increased incredibly easily.
First, catch a bunch of Pokemon and have them just go to your first PC Box. Then, move a Pokemon from a Box and place it in any of the other empty Boxes on your PC. When all eight Boxes are filled, exit out of your PC and then access it again. You should now have Boxes 9 through 16.
Do the same process again with Boxes 9 through 16 to unlock Boxes 17-24, and then do it one last time with these to get Boxes 25-31.
Unlockable | How to Unlock |
Pokemon Boxes 9-16 | Deposit Pokemon into boxes 1-8. |
Pokemon Boxes 17-24 | Deposit Pokemon into boxes 1-16 |
Pokemon Boxes 25-31 | Deposit Pokemon into boxes 1-24 |
Pokemon Box 32 | Defeat Eternatus |
Pokemon Box 32 is unlocked by beating Eternatus. This is done naturally as part of the story and cannot be failed, so just keep playing to get this one.
