First off, you’re going to need to get yourself a Hatenna. It can be found in the Motostoke Outskirts in all weather, but it only has a 10% chance of showing up here. Instead, you want to head to either the Stony Wilderness or Hammerlocke Hills when there’s heavy fog weather. Doing so will grant you a 35-50%, and 25% chance of finding a Hatenna in each location respectively.

It’s worth noting that both Hattrem and Hatterene can also be caught in the wild if you don’t want to evolve Hatenna, but these will be considerably higher levels, and generally are more difficulty to catch.

Once you’ve got Hatenna, simply level it up to Lv. 32 and it will evolve into Hattrem. You can level up your Pokemon by using them in battle, simply having them in your Party, feeding them Curry, or using Rare Candy and EXP Candies.

Evolving Hattrem Into Hatterene

Just like the first evolution step, it’s simply a case of leveling up your Hattrem in Pokemon Sword and Shield to level it up. Specifically, your Hattrem will need to be Lv. 42 before it will evolve into Hatterene.

You don’t need to use any evolution stones or special items like the Razor Claw to evolve these Pokemon. Just a lot of experience and leveling up should do the trick.
