Setting Up Pokemon Camp

First things first, you’ll need the camping gear. This can be obtained by progressing through the story until you clear the battle with Hop on Route 2 and proceed to the train station. Your mom will arrive and give you the camping gear, which allows you to set up Pokemon Camp in Wild Areas.

To do this, press X to bring up the menu, then select the Pokemon Camp option. After you’ve set up camp, press X again to access the camp menu, then choose the cooking option.

Cooking and Curry Effects

Curry in Pokemon Sword & Shield are made with berries, so you’ll want to throw in a few berries from your inventory to spice it up a little. Once you’ve selected your desired ingredients, press the + button to get started.

You’ll need to shake your Joy-Con and rotate it to cook the curry, but if you’re using the Pro Controller, you can rotate the right stick and mash the A button instead. Once it’s done cooking, you’ll get to enjoy the curry along with your Pokemon pals.

The curry effects include restoring Pokemon health, giving them some extra experience points, and causing them to be friendlier towards you.
