Pokemon Sword & Shield: How to Get Deino & Evolve Into Zweilous

If you’re looking to complete your Pokedex in Pokemon Sword and Shield, you’ll need to get your hands on Deino. Not only is this an incredibly rare Pokemon on its own, but it can also evolve into Zweilous and finally into Hyrdreigon. Here’s how to get Deino and evolve it into Zweiolus in Pokemon Sword and Shield.

Getting Deino in Pokemon Sword & Shield

First, it’s worth pointing out that if you have Pokemon Shield, you won’t be able to catch Deino in the wild. This is because Deino is an exclusive Pokemon to Pokemon Sword. You’ll need to trade with a Pokemon Sword player in order to get it.

Pokemon Sword players will need to go to Lake of Outrage to catch Deino. Even then, it’s an incredibly rare spawn at just 2% when it’s raining. It will be level 50-52 and can only be found randomly in tall grass. It will not be visibly walking around the overworld.

You’ll want to make sure you bring plenty of Ultra Balls, as well as Fighting, Bug, Ice, Dragon, or Fairy-type Pokemon, as Deino is weak to all of these.

Avoid bringing Pokemon of the following types, as Deino is strong against them:

• Ghost
• Dark
• Fire
• Water
• Grass
• Electric
• Psychic (Immune)

Evolving Deino Into Zweilous in Pokemon Sword and Shield

Once you’ve caught Deino, all you need to do is level it up once and it should automatically evolve into Zweilous.

This is because Deino evolves into Zweilous at level 50. Unless you level up your Deino from an egg from a Zweilous you’ve already caught, a wild Deino will be level 50-52 already.

Finally, to evolve Zweilous into Hydreigon, continue to level it up to level 64. At this point, the evolution animation will happen and you’ll have a Hydreigon.
