How to Get the Shiny Charm and What it Does in Pokemon Sun and Moon

Recommended Videos

The Shiny Charm is quite a sought after item in Pokemon Sun and Moon. For those unfamiliar with this item, the Shiny Charm makes you far more likely to encounter shiny Pokemon in the wild by simply having it in your inventory. With an item this useful for building incredibly powerful teams, you can imagine that to get your hands on it in Pokemon Sun and Moon you’ll need to do a fair bit of work. And you wouldn’t be wrong.

In order to obtain the Shiny Charm, you’ll first need to catch every single Pokemon that features in the Alola Pokedex. Once you’ve done this, head to the Dimensional Research Lab in Heahea City and enter the building just to the left. Next, make your way up to the second floor (2F) and go into the GAME FREAK office.

Here, you’ll find the Game Director, who you can speak to. Once he admires your completed Pokedex and stamps all of the pages in your passport, you’ll be awarded the Shiny Charm. Now, you can begin building a super (shiny) team in Pokemon Sun and Moon.
