This article is over 8 years old and may contain outdated information

For upcoming trainers out there who are out and about playing Pokemon GO, they should always be prepared with the best tools that a trainer can have. Pokeballs. When you first start you have plenty of basic Poké Balls, but with time you can also acquire Great Balls and Ultra Balls.

There are only two ways to get these different types of Pokeballs, the first being that you have to level up to unlock them. Great Balls will unlock at level 12 and Ultra Balls will unlock at 20, and you will be awarded some upon reaching these levels. The only other way to get your hands on some Great or Ultra Balls is to travel to PokeStops and hope some drop. Unfortunately, both types cannot be bought from the shop so you’ll just have to hope that your luck at PokeStops isn’t too bad. Thankfully, PokeStops only take about five minutes to reset so it shouldn’t take long to gather a good amount.

Have you been able to use these other Pokeballs to great success? Let us know in the comments below. Also if you wish to know any other tips, tricks and everything in between then check out our Ultimate Pokemon Go Guide.
