How to Perform a Gallows Execution in Persona 5

Recommended Videos

Executions may sound like they’re a part of the combat in Persona 5, but these are actually the way you make new Personas or making your existing ones stronger. Gallows Executions are particularly useful as they allow you to strengthen a Persona and give them a massive amount of XP.

There is a sacrifice you’ll have to make when performing a Gallows Execution, though. In exchange for bolstering one of your Personas with a ton of XP, you’ll have to kill another in order to transfer its power.

To actually unlock the Gallows Execution in Persona 5, you’ll unlock it on June 5th naturally as you progress through the story. At least you won’t have to worry about missing it out from a side mission or having not spoken to an NPC. Just head to the Velvet Room after that date and you’ll be able to use it.

It’s worth noting that all executions must be performed in the Velvet Room and that you can only perform a Gallows Execution once per day due to how powerful they are within this upgrade system. With that in mind, be sure you’re happy with the Personas you’re sacrificing and upgrading respectively. You don’t want to unnecessarily waste your only Gallows Execution of the day before you head into a Palace, after all.
