Noble & Rogue Path Actions Explained in Octopath Traveler

Recommended Videos

Octopath Traveler’s eight unique protagonists each have their own Path Actions that they can use to help you progress on your adventure in the game. Path Actions are divided up into Noble ones, and Rogue ones. As you may have guessed, there is a difference between these, but Octopath Traveler doesn’t do the best job of explaining it. As such, to give you a helping hand, we’re going to run you through the differences between both Noble and Rogue Path Actions, and whose are deemed to be which.

First off, let’s run you through the difference between Noble and Rogue Path Actions in Octopath Traveler. All Noble Path Actions can be used on any NPC in the game without any negative repercussions. So, for example, if Alfyn’s Inquire or Ophilia’s Guide aren’t successful, you’re not going to end up in a battle or see your reputation take a tumble in the town you’re currently in.

Rogue Path Actions, on the other hand, not only have a chance of failing, but can also damage your reputation if you keep failing. If your reputation takes too much of a dip, NPCs will no longer react to your Path Actions, and you’ll need to head to the local tavern keeper and hand over some hard-earned Leaves (money) to bump that reputation back up. Nothing like paying someone off, eh?

Here are all of the Noble and Rogue Path Actions in Octopath Traveler.
