How to Get Hot Ice in No Man’s Sky NEXT

Recommended Videos

Released nearly two years after the base game, the NEXT update has given No Man’s Sky a new lease of life. It brought loads of new features to the game, including full multiplayer, the ability to build wherever you like, and a visual overhaul. As you explore the near infinite number of planets alongside your friends, completing missions and analyzing the landscape as you go, you might be in the need of certain resources. One of those resources could be Hot Ice, so here’s everything you need to know about how to get your hands on it.

Hot Ice is important in No Man’s Sky because it is needed for the crafting of a Cryo-Pump, which sees you need 1 x Hot Ice and 1 x Thermic Condensate. Once you’ve got your hands on the blueprint for Hot Ice in No Man’s Sky you will need to follow elements to craft it.

  • 1 x Ammonium Salt
  • 1 x Enriched Carbon

You will also need to know how to get your hands on those two ingredients in No Man’s Sky. First of all, Ammonium Salt is crafted using 250 x Nitrogen, which you’ll get from plants on most planets, and 25 x Carbon, which is also easy to come by.

Secondly, Enriched Carbon is crafted by taking ordinary carbon and boosting it with radioactive energy. You will need 250 x Radon, which you’ll find when harvesting some plants or by using Atmosphere Harvesters on Irradiated/Frozen planets, and 25 x Carbon. You may also be able to buy each of the ingredients, or even Hot Ice itself from NPCs and Trade Terminals in No Man’s Sky. Once you have everything you need, you will be able to craft Hot Ice.

That’s all you need to know about how to get Hot Ice in the NEXT update in No Man’s Sky. For more on the game, be sure to check out our wiki guide.
