No Man’s Sky: How to Get Platinum and What it Does

Platinum – No Man’s Sky

Recommended Videos

There are a lot of different elements in No Man’s Sky’s universe that you will have to collect if you want to be able to craft the various upgrades and technologies available. One of those elements is Platinum. Platinum is a precious metal that is used in certain blueprints as well as for trading.

If you want to find out if there’s any potential Platinum in your immediate area, use your Scanner (click L3) and take note of the Silicate icons (blue and white bottles). These will lead you to any Silicates such as Heridium, Chysonite, and Platinum. The element you seek, though, is found in a blue and silver flower. They’re quite rare, so keep an eye out for them. If worse comes to worse, you can always purchase some in the Galactic Market.

As mentioned before, it’s only used in some blueprints, so there’s no reason to keep large amounts of this resource on hand. Feel free to sell most of it off to fund your next Starship.

Now that you have all of the precious metal you can hope for, why don’t you check out our No Man’s Sky wiki or some of our most requested guides below.
