No Man’s Sky: How to Get Carbon and What it Does

Carbon – No Man’s Sky

Recommended Videos

Carbon is one of the most essential elements found in our entire universe. It’s also super important in No Man Sky’s universe as well. Thankfully, it’s fairly easy to find while you’re exploring the planets.

Carbon is found in most living things. Rocks will contain Iron, but the plants and trees around them will almost always contain Carbon unless they’re the type that you must interact with. You can also find this resource in containers during your travels. And if you really feel the need to purchase this element, you can sometimes find some on the Galactic Market for a really low price.

This element is used to:

  • Charge Life Support.
  • Charge Multi-tool.
  • Feed certain animals.
  • Trade.
  • Craft.

Carbon is a relatively weak Isotope when compared to others in No Man’s Sky but since it’s so common, you’ll definitely want to collect some whenever you see it.

If you need any more help locating resources, or simply surviving, feel free to check out our No Man’s Sky wiki.
