NieR: Automata – Changing Your Weapon Sets

Recommended Videos

If you have two weapons equipped to your primary and secondary slots in NieR: Automata, you’ll be able to perform light attacks with one weapon and heavy attacks with the other. However, if you feel like switching slots for both weapons, or switching over to an entirely new set of two weapons, you can do it fairly quickly without having to go through your main menu and changing them up from there.

All you have to do is press up on the d-pad to change weapon sets. First, make sure that you assign your weapons properly from your menu. Under the Weapons tab, you can edit two weapon sets and assign the appropriate equipment for each slot. If you like swapping your light and heavy weapons on the fly, you can set the same weapons for both sets, but in different slots. If you want to be able to switch to different types of weapons, simply set the weapons you want to switch to in the slots. By pressing up on the d-pad, you can easily swap between your weapon sets, allowing for more variety in combat.
