Mr. Resetti wasn’t always the happiest little mole. In fact, he was never really happy. Still, he was always trying to keep us on the right path. To save our progress and not reset our game. With Animal Crossing: New Horizons out now on Switch, some players may be wondering if Mr. Resetti is in the game.
Resetti in Animal Crossing: New Horizons
The bad news is that Mr. Resetti has been laid off from his old job. In an interview with Mashable, New Horizons’ project lead Aya Kyogoku announced that Mr. Resetti had lost his job due to the game’s new auto-save function.
“I think this will be a positive thing for the player, because in New Horizons you can stop playing in the middle of your game and it’ll still save. But unfortunately, because there’s no necessity to reset the game or reset button on the Switch, Mr. Resetti had a hard time. He was laid off from his position,” Kyogoku said.
That doesn’t mean that Mr. Resetti isn’t in Animal Crossing: New Horizons at all, though. Kyogoku also shared that “Resetti is looking for another job after his layoff.”
It turns out that Mr. Resetti has got a new job, and it’s part of the Rescue Service feature recently added into the game. To access this, open up your Nook Phone and select the ‘Rescue Service’ option.
This can be used for when players get stuck in the environment either due to a glitch or their own errors. It can also be used just to get home when you can’t be bothered walking the distance yourself. When you select the Rescue Service option, you’ll hear the rather familiar mumblings of Mr. Resetti himself.
Sadly, it doesn’t appear as though Resetti himself can be seen in New Horizons, instead relegated to a help desk operator job. We’ll be crossing our fingers he gets a random cameo at some point, though.
If Resetti ever does make more of an appearance in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, we’ll be sure to update this post and let you know.
