Mordhau: Is it Coming to Xbox One? Answered

This article is over 5 years old and may contain outdated information

Mordhau is the latest multiplayer game that’s gathering quite a following over on Steam. The title is a medieval slasher including staple game modes like Frontline, and the talk of the town right now, Battle Royale. There’s also a Horde mode that players can dive into with friends in order to test their skills against waves of AI enemies. As such, some may be wondering if Mordhau is coming to Xbox One.

Is Mordhau Coming to Xbox One? Answered

Unfortunately, at this moment in time, there isn’t a clear-cut answer to whether or not we’ll get a Mordhau port to Xbox One. When asked about the potential for a PS4 and other console releases over on the game’s official subreddit, developer Triternion’s Community Manager for the title had the following to say on the issue:

“So we have to see how well Mordhau does on PC first; if we have the resources and the demand for console ports post-release, we’ll definitely look into it.”

It’s worth noting that this was two months ago prior to the official release of Mordhau on PC. Whether or not we get an Xbox One and/ or PS4 port of the title seemingly depends on whether or not there’s enough vocal support for the game to make its way to consoles, and whether or not the developer has the necessary resources (and probably funding) in order to make this happen.

For now, it’s simply a case of waiting to see how Mordhau performs on PC, and whether or not it’s enough for Triternion to commit to ports for both Xbox One and PS4. We’ll be sure to update this post if and when any announcements are made by the developer. However, judging by the game’s initial success and positive reception with the PC audience, we’re feeling somewhat optimistic.
