CAN YOU PLAY OFFLINE IN MONSTER HUNTER WORLD?

Recommended Videos

The Monster Hunter franchise has always been mainly focused on the online and cooperative components that the series has to offer. Sure, you can play the entirety of the campaign by your lonesome, but the real joy comes from playing with your buddies and hunting all of the monsters down as a team. As such, some players have been wondering if you can play Monster Hunter World offline, especially considering the server issues we often see now on launch days, as well as the occasional blip in services like Xbox Live and PlayStation Network.

Monster Hunter World’s online multiplayer makes playing with friends even easier, because now, you can join anybody’s quest even after it starts. By sending out an S.O.S. signal, you can seek help from strangers or friends if you’re having trouble fighting a tough monster. You would think that a game with such a robust online system like this would require a constant internet connection, but it actually is possible to play Monster Hunter World offline.

When you play in offline mode, you won’t be able to connect with friends online or participate in any event quests, but you can still tackle most of what the game has to offer without having an internet connection of any kind. Do keep in mind that the PlayStation Network has been having a few issues lately with the Monster Hunter World servers, so be prepared for minor inconveniences during the initial launch of the game. Don’t worry, though, you can still quest away offline.
