How to Hide in Monster Hunter World

Recommended Videos

Monster Hunter World’s wilderness is fraught with danger, with tons of imposing beasts for you to hunt and take down. You’ll have lots of tools and weapons to help you do so, but at times, it’s going to be a wiser choice to run away or hide. This is especially true when you’re trying to track a specific monster and set up an ambush for it. Luckily, there is a way to hide in Monster Hunter World, keeping you out of sight from the dangerous beasts.

To hide, all you need to do is get in the crouched position by using the X button (A on Xbox), then walk into some kind of vegetation like long grass or bushes. Similarly to games like Assassin’s Creed, this will automatically put you into a hidden mode. Make sure to use this ability to your advantage when trying to get away from a particularly nasty monster, or even when observing the patterns and habits of another. Stealth is oftentimes just as good of an option as running in and attacking, especially when you’re going up against such fearsome beasts.
