HOW TO GET WHETSTONE IN MONSTER HUNTER WORLD

Recommended Videos

In order to overcome the many monsters of its wilderness, keeping your weapon sharp will be critical in Monster Hunter World. Unlike in other RPGs, progression and stats are almost exclusively tied to your weapon, and having a blunt blade can seriously stunt all the progress you’ve made. Whetstone is your weapon “repair” tool in Monster Hunter World. It’s an item that allows you to recover “lost” sharpness and restore a weapon to its most potent form. Using this handy stone is something you’ll get used to doing frequently in the game, repeating the process to keep your weapons in optimum condition.

Whetstone is in your inventory from the beginning of the game, meaning you’ll never need to worry about trying to find it out in the open in Monster Hunter World. When you see your weapon’s sharpness gauge in the top left-hand corner of your screen running low, use left and right on the d-pad to open your inventory and cycle through until you find it. Press Square (or X on Xbox One) to use it, and your hunter will get to work sharpening your weapon. This can take a little while, so make sure you’re out of harm’s way before using Whetstone on your weapons.

And that’s all you need to know about getting Whetstone in Monster Hunter World. There are plenty of other useful guides on our wiki page for the game.
