How to Buy the Mini SNES Classic
After the overwhelming popularity of the Mini NES Classic, Nintendo has finally announced that its successor is getting the same treatment. The Mini SNES Classic will hit store shelves on Sept. 29 for $79.99 and has 21 pre-loaded games for fans to enjoy. Most notably on that list is Star Fox 2, a title that has never released in any region ever before. As you may have guessed, the Mini SNES Classic is likely to be just as popular as last year’s Mini NES. To give you a fighting chance of getting your hands on the system, here’s a quick and handy guide on how to buy the system before it’s too late.
Currently, our searches for Mini SNES Classic pre-orders around the internet for US residents have come up short. While Amazon UK did have the system up for pre-order and would deliver to US addresses, the Mini SNES Classic is now listed as Currently Unavailable. We’ll be updating the list below as and when more retailers list the tiny console of classics for pre-order in both the US and UK, but for now, it’s just a case of waiting.
Where You Can Currently Buy the Mini SNES Classic
- GAME (UK) – £79.99 – Out of Stock
- Smyths Toys (UK) – £69.99 – Out of Stock
- Amazon (UK, Ships to US) – £69.99 – Out of Stock
- ShopTo (UK) – £84.85 – Out of Stock
- EB Games (Aus) – $119.95 – Out of Stock
- Amazon (US) – Sign up for stock alerts
- BestBuy (US) – $79.99 – Sign up for stock alerts
While almost all of the above sites have now run out of their pre-order allocation, word has it that high street GAME stores have some Mini SNES Classic units available for pre-order. You’ll need to put down a £50 deposit and sign up for a free reward card to secure yours. There is still currently no word on US pre-orders going live.
A few quick tips to help you out. Keep an eye out on Twitter and check out the SNES Classic Edition trends whenever you can. People are often tweeting out about where you can buy the system as soon as it happens. To make sure you’re not faced with any unnecessary holdups during the checkout process, make sure that all of your billing and delivery details are updated now on the likes of Amazon, GameStop, and BestBuy, too. You don’t want to be entering new card details and wasting precious seconds with a Mini SNES Classic in your basket, after all!
If you’ve got the time, it might be worth checking in at your local retailer to see if they have any news on when the pre-orders might go live in store, too.
