How to Get Saul Quests in Metro Exodus (Good Ending & Damir Fate)

Recommended Videos

There are a lot of missions that not every player will get to see in Metro Exodus. Here is everything you need to know about how to get Saul side missions in Metro Exodus and how they affect the ending and Damir.

Meeting Saul

Your first encounter with Saul is a very important part of Metro Exodus, but the game doesn’t make that clear to you at first. You will first come across him in the desert Caspian level, and he seems like little more than a random enemy NPC.

Saul will ambush you from the roof of a building you go to as part of the story. Then, you will get the choice to choke him out or kill him. Here, you want to keep him alive. Metro Exodus put a big focus on you being a nice person, not killing people when you don’t have to.

Not killing him not only adds to Artyom’s theoretical karma level, but it opens up some additional side missions that involve him. Side missions are shown on your map in the game by a white question mark.

Side Mission and Metro Exodus Endings

Side missions are important in Metro Exodus because they play a role in which ending you’ll get. The better you are and the more you help the other survivors by completing side missions, the more likely you are to get the good ending. Saul is important to that in the Caspian level.

Also, the fate of Damir is an important part of this section of the game. If you kill Saul when he ambushes you and don’t complete the side missions, alongside a few other things, he will choose to stay behind in the Caspian level, rather then joining your crew on the Aurora.

Damir’s decision not only gets you a hidden trophy or achievement in Metro Exodus, but it also plays a part in which ending you get. We don’t want to spoil the endings here, but if you want to see what happens when you make each choice, and what the choice with Saul could lead to, we have explained them both here.

That’s everything you need to know about how to get Saul side missions in Metro Exodus and how they affect the ending and Damir. For more tips and tricks on the game, be sure to check out our Metro Exodus wiki.
