Getting Back to the Tempest in Mass Effect Andromeda
Mass Effect Andromeda allows you to travel through space and visit different star systems by flying around in your new ship, the Tempest. Thus, it’s only logical that you’d have to go back to the ship itself whenever you want to leave a planet and go back to the Nexus or the Ark.
To leave the planet, you have to manually walk back to your ship. By bringing up your map, you can locate the Tempest by searching for its icon. Simply head over (or use the Nomad to save some time), and look for the ramp that leads into the ship’s bay. Walk up the ramp, and you’ll see a door. If you interact with it, you’ll get an in-game prompt asking if you want to leave the planet. Select ‘Yes,’ and you’ll be out of the planet in no time. From the Tempest, you can access the Galaxy Map and warp to whichever star system or planet you want to visit next. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like you can fast travel between planets, because that just wouldn’t be immersive.
If driving over and piloting the ship is a bit too time consuming for you, there’s another option that will get you out of a pinch in a hurry. Hold down Triangle/Y in the Nomad and you’ll be instantly transported to the Tempest and find yourself in orbit. Do be careful not to use this during an important mission with a far waypoint, though. If you do, you’ll have to make the long trek again if you happened to leave by mistake.
