Mass Effect Andromeda Viability Points

Recommended Videos

Andromeda Viability Points, or AVP for short, are a new form of currency you can obtain in Mass Effect Andromeda. The amount of AVP you have determines how much of the Nexus you can upgrade, and whether you can start building outposts and other installations on a planet. For instance, a planet needs to reach a minimum of 40% Viability before you can build your first outpost there.

AVP can be obtained simply by making a planet more habitable. This is done through solving and dealing with environmental hazards (whether through side missions or main story progress), making friends with locals and aliens there, deploying forward stations, discovering resources, and generally making the place safer to live in.

As you gain more AVP throughout the course of the game, you can also wake up more colonists from cryosleep and put them to work. Players will be able to decide which colonists they want to wake up first, depending on the skills and abilities that they come with.
