Marvel Games 2017
Marvel looks to be getting back into the swing of things in terms of video games as they’ve been making deals with studios around the world to get some projects underway. However, fans would like to get their hands on those games as soon as possible.
Right now, we know of a handful of games being worked on by studios. Marvel recently announced a partnership with Square Enix that will lead to multiple video games set in the various universes. The first is Project Avengers, which is being developed by Crystal Dynamics (Rise of the Tomb Raider), and Eidos Montreal (Deus Ex). The PS4 exclusive Spider-Man (working title) is being developed by Insomniac Games. And Guardians of the Galaxy is underway at Telltale Games.
Of the titles we know of, only Guardians of the Galaxy is set to actually release in 2017, although there’s no concrete date or even a more narrow window. The developer announced the title late last year during The Game Awards, and five episodes are expected before this year’s over.
Things are looking up for Marvel and the games it puts out. We can’t wait to see what comes of all these brand-new partnerships and projects.
