Marking the beginning of the busy fall release schedule, Madden 22 is finally out. Letting you live out your football fantasies, you get full control over your squad on the field. So that you can tweak tactics mid-play, here’s everything you need to know about how to playmaker in Madden 22.
If you’re unaware, what Playmaker does is allow you to tinker with a play after it has started by moving a player while in control of your quarterback.
How to Playmaker in Madden 22
When you’re in control of your quarterback, before passing to a runner, you can use Playmaker by tilting the right stick in the direction you want the receiver to run.
Unfortunately, you don’t just get to choose the receiver you change the run of. Playmaker will automatically lock on to the runner nearest to the QB, which you’ll see by a yellow outline around them.
You can move the QB around while you’re controlling them to try and get them nearer to another receiver, but that’s easier said than done. Playmaker is something you should be using when you want to alter the run of the nearest receiver. You should be aware of who that is before you initiate Playmaker.
Do be aware, however, that Playmaker in Madden 22 isn’t necessarily the most reliable feature, as the players you control are still human with their own AI. Titling the stick might not send the player in the exact direction you want – it’s not very precise.
You can’t make the receiver instantly stop and turn, so it’s better to use Playmaker as a kind of last resort. Something to help you get the ball out quickly when you need to.
