Thick as Thieves Quest Guide in Kingdom Come Deliverance
Kingdom Come Deliverance is rife with quests to complete, some quick and simple and others not so much. One that falls into the latter camp is Thick as Thieves, a surprisingly difficult quest that can be a bit tricky to figure out. Before we dive into the quest, make sure you’re quite good at lockpicking and have more than a few lockpicks with you if you take this one on.
Thick as Thieves is a quest found in Rattay Mill, and you get it from Miller Peshek, who you may remember as the NPC that taught you how to lockpick and pickpocket at the beginning of Kingdom Come Deliverance. The quest has you stealing different items for three millers – Peshek, Woyzeck, and Simon, and the items themselves can be a bit difficult to find. We’ll section it out by each item, and help you track down everything you need.
Finding the Items For Peshek in Kingdom Come Deliverance – Ring, Documents, Book
The first step of Thick as Thieves has you tracking down yet another ring for Peshek, this time from the bathhouse nearby. Head on over to the main building of the bathhouse, and go up the stairs. You should spot a bluish chest in between the two beds up there, which is where the ring is. Now you have two options here, you can lockpick the chest to get it, or you can knock out the villager working in the bathhouse and take the key from him. If you want to conserve some lockpicks the latter might be a better idea, but don’t get noticed or you’ll find yourself in some serious trouble.
Now head back to Peshek, and he’ll task you with finding a land deed from the Rathaus in Rattay. Now go to the Rathaus and head up the stairs to a large dining room area. Immediately turn right and head up the stairs in the corner to a locked door. Again either pick the lock or knock out one of the scribes to get the key. Once you have the door open, find a desk in the corner of the room with candles on it. You’ll find the land deed there, so head back to Peshek and he’ll give you the final task.
Finally, you’ll need to steal an illuminated book from Sir Hanush, which is a lot easier than it sounds honestly. Simply head to the Rattay Upper Gate where indicated by your compass in Kingdom Come Deliverance, and you’ll find a door with a single guard. Knock him out when no one is looking, then break your way into the room. The book will be just inside on a table. Congratulations, that’s one miller down. Just two more to go to complete this Kingdom Come Deliverance quest.
Finding the Items for Simon in Kingdom Come Deliverance – Valuable Brocade, Beer Recipe
Miller Simon luckily only has two items for you to pilfer in Thick as Thieves, the first of which is a Valuable Brocade from the Sasau Tailor. As you might expect, you need to head to the Tailor’s shop, which isn’t hard to find. Just look for the building marked by a pair of scissors on your map. Head to the Tailor’s trade room by breaking in, so of course be careful not to be spotted by anyone. The Brocade can be a bit tricky to find, so head to the very Northwest corner of the room and look for some shelves. You’ll see two baskets at the bottom of the shelves, and above those some pieces of cloth. Look on top of the cloth and you should find the Brocade.
The second item from Simon is a Beer Recipe, found in the cellar of the inn at Uzhitz. The area for this one isn’t hard to find, just head to the inn and down the cellar. The recipe itself is tucked near the back corner of the cellar, between two beer jugs. You’ll know where to look as it’s on a shelf with the jugs, as well as bowls filled with filled with bread and cheese. That’s another miller down, one more to go for the Thick of Thieves quest in Kingdom Come Deliverance.
Finding the Items for Woyzeck in Kingdom Come Deliverance – Talmberg Waffenrocks, Horse, Jewelry
Now we’re onto the final miller in Thick as Thieves, and this Kingdom Come Deliverance quest is finally drawing to a close. The first item Woyzeck requests from you is Talmberg Waffenrocks, which you’ll need to head to the Talmberg Armory to find. The trickiest part of getting this item is that you need to pickpocket one of the guards roaming the area, in order to get the Armory Key. Specifically, the guard to go for is the one up on the wooden catwalks, but it’s still difficult. You can try knocking him out, just be very careful to not raise the alarm as you’ll find yourself in a really bad situation. Of course, you can always try straight up pickpocketing the key. Once you have the key, follow your compass up to the battlements and into the room with a chest and ladders leading up and down. Take the ladder down and open the chest there to find the Talmberg Waffenrocks.
After how difficult the first item is to get, the second request from Woyzeck is an absolute breeze. For this one, he simply wants you to steal a horse from the stables at Merjohed. Just travel to the stables steal the nearest horse, and ride on back.
The final item you need to get is jewelry from Lady Stephanie of Talmberg Castle. Her room, specifically, is on the third floor of the castle just above the stables. Just follow your waypoint through the castle, to the third floor and her room. This time around there’s a lot of lockpocking to do, some of which is quite difficult. You’ll need to lockpick your way into her room, and then deal with a difficult lockpick on the chest within her room. Make sure you go into the castle with quite a few lockpicks, and of course don’t let anyone see you trying to unlock everything. Once you make your way through everything though, you’ll have the jewelry to bring back to Woyzeck and finally wrap this whole scavenger hunt up.
