Halo Infinite’s multiplayer has pulled off a surprise launch ahead of the campaign’s December release date and announced a slew of other entertainment-related surprises. If you’re here, you’ve likely caught wind of the hype and wanted to see what it would take to get in on the action yourself. In this guide, we’ll go over whether or not Halo Infinite is free-to-play on Xbox and PC.
Halo Infinite – Is Multiplayer Free to Play?
The answer is yes and no. The multiplayer portion of Halo Infinite is completely free to play. Not only does it cost a grand total of zero dollars, but it also doesn’t even require a subscription to Xbox Game Pass or Xbox Live Gold status. All you need is an internet connection, a free Microsoft account, and an Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, or a PC and you’ll be able to download Halo Infinite’s multiplayer and play for free within minutes (or however long it takes you to download it). Does the Halo Infinite Campaign Cost Money?
While the multiplayer portion of Halo Infinite is free to play, likely because it will have its own monetary tail that will last years to come, the campaign of Halo Infinite is not. The Halo Infinite campaign will cost players $59.99 and will launch on Dec. 8.
The campaign, unlike the multiplayer portion, will be a one-off experience and at the moment, no DLCs or expansions are confirmed. However, if you are an Xbox Game Pass subscriber, you will be able to download the campaign for free and play through it as much as you like as long as you’re still subscribed.
