HOW TO TURN OFF YOUR PS4 CONTROLLER

Recommended Videos

The DualShock 4 controller can lose its charge pretty quickly, especially since it stays on for a long time even when you’re not touching it or playing anything. Sometimes you want to be able to turn it off while you’re watching Netflix or maybe while watching a long cutscene in a game that you’re playing.

To shut off your PS4 controller entirely, all you need to do is hold down the PS button that is on the middle of the controller. If you hold it down for maybe five seconds or so, choose the option that lets you power off the controller, and it should shut down – allowing you to save some of the controller’s precious battery. To turn it back on, you just have to press that same PS button one more time. Make sure to keep your controller off whenever you can, so you can ultimately keep it off the charger for prolonged periods of time. It always sucks when you’re deep into a game and a notification pops up, saying that your controller is about to die and it needs to be plugged in.
