As Dusk Falls is a narrative-drive, decision-based experience where you’ll follow the story of various characters over the course of three decades. While the game’s runtime isn’t that long, there may be times where you want to save your game in As Dusk Falls and pick up the action where you left off a little later on.
Saving Your Game in As Dusk Falls
As Dusk Falls uses an auto-save system, which appears to save fairly regularly whenever the scene changes or you make a major decision. You’ll know when the game is saving as an icon appears in the upper right corner of the screen.
When this happens, you can then press the Menu button on your Xbox controller (or Esc on PC), and select the ‘Return to Main Menu,’ option.
Doing this also appears to force a save state, meaning that you can then hop back into the action from where you left off when you’re ready to play again.
If you’re worried about losing any of your progress, you can always wait until the end of the chapter, where you’re shown the decision tree. At this point, your progress is recorded and you’ll have the option to return to the main menu. Each chapter of As Dusk Falls takes around an hour to beat, so it’s not too long to wait.
Is There a Manual Save Option?
Unfortunately, no, there’s no ‘Save Game’ option in the menus that you can use to immediately record your progress. However, we’ve not had any problems returning to the menu once a scene had come to an end within a chapter and returning to the same point when we loaded the game back up.
That’s everything you need to know on how to save in As Dusk Falls. For more tips and tricks on the game, be sure to search for Twinfinite or check out the links below.
