How To Fix Steam Store Not Loading

Whether you are using the browser or app, if you are experiencing issues getting your Steam Store to load, there are several ways to fix the issue.

Restart Your Browser or App

This is the easiest place to start for loading issues. Your browser or app can experience some technical difficulties that are quickly fixed by restarting. Simply close out of the app or browser and then open it up again. It should be running like normal after that. If the issue persists, you can follow the steps below.

Restart Your Computer

If restarting the browser or app wasn’t enough, it’s time to go the extra mile and completely reboot your computer. Simply close out all your apps, then restart your computer. This can clear your computer’s memory or close any ghost apps running in the background that are causing issues with loading. After this, your Steam Store should be up and running again.

Clear Browser Cache

You’ve already tried turning it off and on again, so let’s pull out the heavy guns. Clearing your browser cache is the best thing to do whenever websites aren’t working properly. Head to your browser settings. Once there, you’ll be able to search “cache.” You should find an option that says, “Clear browsing data.” Simply run that, and it’ll clean up the browser so sites run properly. Warning, this will log you out of your profiles, so you’ll have to log in to Steam again when you head to their site.

Update Steam App

If you are trying to access the store through the app, but it is not loading, the app might be out of date. Luckily, updating the platform is quick and easy.

On Windows, look at the top left corner of the app. Click on “Steam.” In that menu, click on “Check for Steam Client Updates.” That will get your app up to date and the store back up and running.

On Mac, look at the top left of your screen and click on “Steam.” From that menu, select “Check for updates…” That will update your client and fix loading issues.

Check if Steam is Down

If the problem hasn’t been solved after any of these steps, there’s a good chance that Steam is experiencing an outage. If that is the case, unfortunately, you will have to wait out the issue until their servers are back.
