The National Pokedex unlocks new areas to explore, including other parts of the Battle Zone where many wild Pokemon from beyond the confines of Sinnoh roam. You’ll also gain access to the PokeRadar, which populates many different areas with more Pokemon to capture. Further, subsequent battles with trainers, such as Gym Leaders and the Elite Four, will feature different Pokemon during rematches.

The final, and arguably most appealing, perk of getting the National Dex is that you’ll be able to go to Ramanas Park and have the opportunity to capture Legendary Pokemon.

How to Get the National Dex in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl

To unlock the National Dex, you will need to catch all 151 Pokemon in the Sinnoh Region. From there it’s just a case of going to speak with Professor Rowan over in Sandgem Town. After some cutscenes and dialog play out he will hand over the coveted National Dex.

Now, as previously mentioned, other trainers will start to include more Pokemon in their teams for their rematches including Gym Leaders and the Elite Four.
