Following the end of the first Overwatch 2 beta, Blizzard is getting ready to start testing on June 28 once more. Following the announcement of the new Overwatch 2 beta, those who missed out the first time are understandably eager to get in this time around. Anyone interested to throw their hat in the ring can simply head over to the Overwatch 2 website and opt in for beta participation. It is likely applications will be accepted all the way until the beta begins on June 28.

Do note that even if you have gotten access the first time, you will have to opt in once more to stand a chance for this second round.

Alternatively, you can also purchase the $40 Watchpoint Pack for guaranteed beta access in June. The Watchpoint Pack also comes with the premium battle pass for season 1, two Legendary skins, 2,000 gold, and a player icon.

For Blizzard, the beta will allow the team to test out Overwatch 2 on consoles, as well as test how cross-play will function across the different platforms. “Because of this, we need to select players based in part on their platform choice, so we’re launching a new opt-in process which tracks player platform preference,” Team 4 said in the FAQ.

The first round of access will allow a smaller batch of players into the Overwatch 2 PvP beta. We can expect more players to be able to join in around July 5. The second Overwatch 2 beta will include many of the features and mechanics of the first one.

Players will still be playing in teams of five instead of six, check out the new map of Rio and hero reworks, together with a new hero, Junker Queen. Overwatch 2 will launch on October 4 with just the PVP portion, with PVE set to be available next year.
